ABOUT DR. TERRY

Anne Terry grew up in Salinas, California where she learned to ride horses, was a groom for a hunter-jumper stable and later exercised polo ponies. She got her undergraduate degree in Biology from UC Davis and also was a member of the UC Davis Polo Club.

She went on to graduate from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994, and began her first veterinary job in Estacada, Oregon as a companion animal veterinarian working on both small and large animals. In 1997 she moved home to the Central Coast and began working as a large animal veterinarian at Adobe Animal Hospital in Santa Cruz. In 2003, Dr. Terry opened Large Animal Veterinary Service of Santa Cruz which provides personalized, quality care to livestock in Santa Cruz County.

In her spare time, Anne enjoys training and competing in Agility and Obedience with her Chihuahua, Riot, and Shepard mix, Berry. She also loves to run, ride horses, and travel to places with cool climates like Alaska and Antarctica.

Leandra Siahaan, RVT

Leandra has always been passionate about the care and wellbeing of animals. She grew up on the west coast surrounded by pets, large and small, and was often trying to “adopt” any animal who wandered into the neighborhood. Although adult life took her in other directions initially, she never lost her desire to assist animals in need.

After raising her own family, she was fortunate enough to be able to pursue that passion. First, as a volunteer, at the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley, rehabilitating orphaned and injured animals for release back to the wild. Then, as a licensed Veterinary Technician (RVT), working with equids and small ruminants, with Dr. Terry. She continues to do volunteer work in her spare time, currently with the California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps.

She has an A.S., in Veterinary Technology, from Foothill College, where she also completed a specialized program for veterinary technicians. She passed the national exam for her field in 2020 and has been licensed, in California, as a Registered Veterinary Technician, since that time.
